NEW DELHI: On Tuesday 22 March, the World Air Quality Report 2021 made annually by the Swiss Organization IQAir was released according to which Indian cities Bhiwadi and Ghaziabad are the most populated regions.
Apart from Bhiwadi in the state of Rajasthan and Ghaziabad in UP, the national capital Delhi also appears to be the place with the most polluted air.
The cities of Noida and Jaunpur in Uttar Pradesh are on the list of 5 Indian cities with the worst quality of air. India has 35 entries in the list of 35 cities across the globe with polluted and toxic air.
According to the report by the Swiss organization, New Delhi is the highest polluted capital city in the world for the fourth consecutive year with bad air increasing 15% than last year.
The recent report on international air quality is published after a survey on the basis of PM 2.5 air quality data from 6475 cities that are located in 177 different countries.
The IQAir stated that none of the Indian cities whose air quality measures met the standard of WHO (World Health Organization) of 5 mg per cubic metre.
In the third position of the 10 most polluted places across the globe appear Xinjiang city of China with 101.5 Average PM 2.5 AQ. Pakistan also suffers from the worst quality of air to breathe as the country appears in the top 6, 8 and 9 adding the cities of Faisalabad, Bahawalpur and Peshawar.

The air quality in Assam's Guwahati city has fallen in the category of 'very poor' after the massive celebration of Holi on Saturday. The AQI of the biggest city in the northeast is marked as worst than the national capital Delhi.
The average AQI on Saturday 19 March was 314 while on 18 March it was 314.
